Word from the Band Leader
“The youth are really special to me because, well, they’ve got their whole lives ahead of them to live! I remember my teenage years as being a really confusing time in my life, full of expectations, self-doubts, dreams and mistakes… I hope to inspire and encourage them to accept themselves, to keep dreaming and hoping, and to experience a life of freedom in Christ!” – Dotz (Snooze Band Leader)
Our youth matters! That’s the heart behind the band Snooze, which wants to love the teenagers of this generation, right where they are.
To “snooze” is handphone jargon for that transient phase of life that we go through between “sleeping” and “waking”. That’s kind of what the teenage life is like. In the words of Britney Spears: “I’m not a girl, not yet a woman” – a youth is not a child any longer, and yet not an adult. Their life stories are very much in the process of being written, and the decisions they make will affect them for the rest of their lives.
As young adults just a bit further down the road of life than them, we want to share our journeys with them, through a combination of music and stories, concerts and personal relationships. We seek to affirm their value and worth, eventually pointing them to the hope and abiding friendship they can find in Jesus.
